The TPL Birdy WP Charger is an option that is offered for the Birdy WP Alphanumeric Pager. Although the pager is powered by a standard “AA” alkaline battery, a Birdy WP Charger is available if a rechargeable “AA” battery is preferred as the power source. The Charger package has an AC power adapter included.
A Birdy WP pager that is charging will still alert if a message is received. A red LED indicator light will flash to notify the user. Typical charging time is approximately 5 hours. Remote contact relay operation is possible with the Charger through a rear-panel auxiliary connection.
The TPL Systems Birdy WP Alphanumeric POCSAG Pager is ruggedly designed for dependable use in severe working conditions. The pager holds an IP67 rating from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) who classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against dust and water intrusion. An IP67 rating means the Birdy WP Pager is completely dust tight and does not allow ingress of harmful quantities of water when tested for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter. Included with each Birdy WP POCSAG Pager is a belt clip and lanyard.
The TPL Systems Birdy WP Alphanumeric FLEX Pager features a strong and robust design for use in both normal and extreme operating environments. The Birdy WP carries an IP67 rating, indicating the pager housing protects against any degree of dust intrusion and can withstand being immersed in water up to 1 meter in depth. Each Birdy WP FLEX Pager is shipped with a belt clip and lanyard.
The TPL Systems Birdy WP Alphanumeric POCSAG ATEX Pager is designed to be reliably operational in situations where working conditions would be considered to be hazardous. The pager has all the features of the Birdy WP POCSAG Pager with the additional ability to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. The Birdy ATEX has an IP67 rating that indicates a high degree of protection from both dust and water intrusion into the pager. A plastic holster and lanyard are included with each WP POCSAG ATEX pager.
The TPL Birdy WP Charger with Antenna is similar to the TPL Birdy WP Charger, but has an additional built-in connector for external antenna operation. The primary purpose of the WP Charger with Antenna is to improve message reception in weak signal strength locations while the pager is charging. Although the Birdy WP pager is shipped with a standard “AA” battery as the power source, there may be situations where a rechargeable battery and charger would be a better solution.
